Old Town Country Garden Located in the center of a delightful neighborhood, the Old Town Country Garden by Torrey Pines Landscape Co., Inc. showcases our dedication to brilliant landscaping. Our team converted a small backyard into a magnificent place that unifies old-style rustic flair with new-style sophistication. We are proud to serve the thriving communities of Del Mar, La Jolla, and Rancho Santa Fe. With the intention of addressing topography issues and highlighting the outdoor space, we began by analysing the site. Our designers ultimately produced a layout which includes layered plantings, including native drought-resistant plants, specifically, California sagebrush with exquisite flowering plants to address sustainability and biodiversity. The famed center of the garden is the hand-crafted stone fireplace with natural boulders surrounding it to make it an enjoyable place for family nights out under the stars. We thoroughly researched and located quality materials, including locally sourced flagstone for the pathways and rustic timber for the raised gardens. The objective of selecting these local and low-impact materials was to create as much synergy as possible with the outdoor space. An additional touch on water conservation was added with a drip irrigation system that can sustain each of the plants with the least environmental footprint possible. There were some challenges on this , for example, including uneven terrain and multiple tree roots. These challenges took great creative solutions, thought, and of course cooperation from all involved. In the end, regardless of some of the challenges presented, we were able to look at them creatively and improve the character and function of the garden space. In the end, the final result far exceeded our client’s expectations with a lovely retreat space where they can go to enjoy! This is a beautiful space that adds exterior appeal and value to the front entrance. The Old Town Country Garden is an overall balance of lush plants surrounding the garden, blooms, and the comforting ambience of the surrounding atmosphere will be enjoyed for years to come. Our family can now focus on being "happy at home" with their new landscape!
