North Carolina Mountain Residence by Planters Set amid the gorgeous context of the North Carolina mountains, the North Carolina Mountain residence by Planters exemplifies the highest level of landscape design that works seamlessly with nature's beauty. Serving the energetic communities of Atlanta, Buckhead, Buckhead Atlanta, Druid Hills, and Vinings, Planters was tasked with transforming this beautiful landscape into a more peaceful oasis that connects with the landscape around it. The included an assortment of carefully selected landscaping items, including native plants appropriate to the climate. Using local stone on the pathways and retaining walls, our team was able to create a certain, natural appearance that complimented the rugged landscape. The locally sourced stone and native plants demonstrated a commitment to sustainable practices and were more visually appealing. When we got to the residence, there were several hurdles we faced, including the steep nature of the site; we needed to carefully plan for keeping water running off, and for the ability to walk down to the terraces. Our skilled team designed a sequence of terraced gardens with plants that would stabilize the structure (native shrubs and ornamental grasses), while introducing layers of texture and color through the seasons. To give the landscape more life, we included a water feature to make a subtle sound of water running, a soothing background of tranquility. The outcome is an incredible landscape that excites the client and truly embodies the essence of mountain living. Working with the client and our design team, we made sure that everything from the order of the species, to the order of the spaces, depicted their idea for a casual retreat. Now the North Carolina Mountain Residence demonstrates Planters, our respect for quality, craftsmanship, the engaging use of materials, and relationship with beautiful nature. This will be a special place for years to come!
