Highlands, NC Estate by Planters Located in the picturesque backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highlands, NC Estate by Planters took an expansive property and turned into a tranquil landscape that fits well within its natural context. With clients in high-end areas, such as Atlanta, Buckhead, Druid Hills, and Vinings, Planters took on this different estate, and paid close attention to every detail. The included a range of landscape aspects including a beautiful natural stone pathway that winds between and among colorful flower beds, a custom, designed water feature that serves as the focus and sound, and an array of terraced gardens that help frame the site's topography. High-quality native plants were selected for their ability to flourish while providing a handsome quality, enhancing the property. One significant challenge was dealing with the steep elevation changes found on the site; therefore, an appropriate solution would need to be created to limit the possibility for erosion while maintaining aesthetic value. Planters used sustainable timber retaining walls to stabilize the soil on the property while adding a rugged yet beautiful quality that fit the estate's architecture. In the end, the client was very happy with the result of a beautiful landscape that was in balance with elegance and nature. The estate is now a lovely retreat with verdant growth, seasonal color, and tranquility.
