Steilacoom Residence Recent s We are excited to announce our latest transformation at the Steilacoom Residence, a harmony with nature and modern living by Folia Horticultural + Design. Located in the beautiful Steilacoom area, this showcases our quality work and unique design to clients from Seattle, Ballard, Bellevue, Mercer Island and everywhere in-between. We started the with a comprehensive site analysis to understand the individual topography and microclimates on the property. We also needed to be mindful of erosion on sloped terrain while beautifying the area. The design of the garden was as such to have steps and multiple levels, with area walls solved as huge gravel, visibly rough boulders and some more rustic natural stone. At the heart of the is a colorful, multi-storied garden with a variety of Pacific Northwest native species that will be able to grow well in our climate. To ensure color and texture regardless of the time of the year, we chose a complimentary palette of flowering shrubs, ornamental grasses and perennials that bloom through most of the seasons. We added flowering plants that attracted pollinators to bolster biodiversity by providing shelter and foodings for our home fauna. From the home, a custom bluestone patio offers an excellent outdoor entertainment and relaxation space. The meticulous drainage system installation in the area ensuring that rainwater drainage does not flood the surrounding area makes this space flow right into the lush garden behind. At its core, the Steilacoom Residence evokes the landscape harmoniously to achieve the vision of the homeowners while conquering challenges of the site.
