Comprehensive Front Yard and Back Yard Renovation by Raimondi Hort Grp | The Little Flower Shoppe Located in the heart of Elmwood Park, the work put in on this landscaping was a wonderful display of functional artistry, executed by Raimondi Hort Grp | The Little Flower Shoppe. The landscaping crew was tasked with transforming the front and back yards of a small suburban home. The challenge was to create a design plan that showcased some of the latest native plants while meeting the client's specific needs. We had a thorough consultation with the client to understand their wants and needs in detail. Then, the landscape architects designed an eye-catching front yard with a diverse selection of local native perennial flowers and beautiful ornamental grasses. The streetscape was designed around a bluestone path, sourced from a local quarry and custom-paved, which provided a solid and long-lasting surface for the homeowners and guests. The back yard posed some challenges with an unlevel grade, but we achieved a multi-level garden that is both beautiful and functional. The crew constructed raised vegetable and herb beds using sustainably sourced cedar lumber. The overall design provided a functional outdoor area to plant vegetables and herbs. Plus, we created a cozy living area that allows the homeowner to enjoy their back yard all year round by adding a handcrafted firepit with natural stone boulders embellished with decorative gravel surrounding it for the living area, which is perfect for entertaining and gathering. There were challenges throughout the with an antiquated French drain system, some drainage issues, and rocky soil. However, our team of highly trained skilled laborers was able to manage all of the challenges with creative solutions. For example, they took care of the people problem and designed a functional and efficient drainage system to divert water away from the house's foundation, remaining mindful of the environment and the aesthetics of the new lush landscape that will grow and mature. The final product was a beautiful outdoor oasis that met the client's aesthetic request while heightening their outdoor lifestyle. The design process respected the quality of the environment by choosing some innovative materials for improved durability.
