Summary: Prairie Poolside by Szafranski Landscape Architecture Located in Bixby, 'Prairie Poolside' demonstrates the power of thoughtful landscaping. The owners hired Szafranski Landscape Architecture to create a welcoming outdoor room to fit around a modern pool. Working with clients who wanted both a relaxing and entertaining space, the firm created an exquisite blend of form and function. The garden features a beautiful selection of native grasses and colorful perennial plants chosen to reflect, in part, the beauty of Oklahoma's natural landscape and grow well in the local climate. The pathways of stonea locally provided flagstone, of courseconnect the lower pool area to the seating areas with surprising ease and style, marrying the landscape to the architecture of the house. The ornamental trees formally add shade and provide visual interests throughout the seasons; serviceberry and redbud are two excellent species for such work. One of the challenges of the was managing the various elevations around the pool area. Working with the LAs and the topography of the site, our team design tiered gardens that enhance the view and prevent erosion while establishing a healthy soil profile. The permeable pavers that surround the patio extent the sustainability of the site while reducing the mitigation work in the early years of the garden. The end result is an impressive escape of elegance and serenity that charms the client with color, texture, and its focus on the relationship between living spaces inside the house and outside. 'Prairie Poolside' showcases Szafranski Landscape Architecture's commitment to quality, design, and focus on the uniqueness of each client served in locations from Tulsa to Houston and beyond.
