About This Project

The Louis Kitchen/Living project transformed a dated kitchen space into a modern culinary haven, perfectly tailored for a family that values cooking and gathering. Located in Plano, Texas, this remodel was initiated in 2016, driven by the homeowners' desire for improved functionality and aesthetics. The original kitchen presented significant limitations, with inadequate storage and prep areas that hindered their passion for cooking. Notably, the outdated stove was a major point of frustration, prompting the couple to seek a gas range reminiscent of the one they cherished in their previous home. To achieve their vision, we commenced the renovation by removing a wall in the butler's pantry, effectively creating an open-concept layout that enhances both flow and accessibility. This strategic design choice enabled us to maximize space, allowing for a more inviting environment where family and friends can gather comfortably. The old cabinetry and soffit were replaced with stunning cherry Kraftmaid cabinets extending all the way to the ceiling. These cabinets were meticulously crafted to include numerous deep drawers, ensuring that storage is both ample and easily accessible, thus elevating the overall functionality of the kitchen. In addition to the kitchen transformation, we integrated the formerly separated laundry and utility office areas into a spacious, multifunctional laundry room. This new space was designed with practicality in mind, featuring extensive storage solutions that accommodate the family's needs while keeping the area organized and efficient. The result is a harmonious blend of style and utility, where modern design meets everyday practicality. The completed Louis Kitchen/Living project not only reflects the homeowners' love for cooking but also creates a welcoming atmosphere ideal for family gatherings. With a cost range of $100,001 - $150,000, this project stands as a testament to thoughtful design and skilled craftsmanship, ensuring that the heart of the home is both beautiful and functional.
