About This Project

The Otto Cumberland Valley Tree Service - Landscaping is excited to present the Otto , an inspiring landscaping overhaul in the quality community of Greencastle. The Otto was purposefully developed to add value to our client's outdoor living spaces while respecting the incredible beauty that is already present in the property. The Otto featured beautiful design components such as custom stone walkways made from homegrown flagstone that was not only beautiful, but made to last and endure. Native plants, which are known to be more reliable and low maintenance, were designed into the landscape scheme. This included flowering shrubs, ornamental grasses, and a myriad of perennials that bloom throughout the season; thus providing color and texture all year round. One of the main challenges occurred from built-in elevation changes in the area. Our staff set to work utilizing appropriate grading techniques to develop a level area on which we can avoid water build-up and erosion from too much rain. We did not skimp on the , while respecting existing landscaping, to build a fully integrated irrigation system with an automated rain gauge to efficiently water our new designs while saving on water use. The Otto also incorporated a comfortable covered seating area to entertain guests and family. This was built using rustic cedar to shade the area while adding to the character of the landscape while delightfully integrating into a scenic view. The hard work paid off with the beautiful creation of an outdoor haven to exceed any expectations. Not only did the new aesthetic bring beauty and value to the property, it led to a functioning and practical outdoor area. The clients were delighted to finally be able to enjoy the once ill-maintained yard as a sanctuary, fun, or family gathering space, along with an attractive area for creatures that also call the landscape home.
