This was located in downtown Chambersburg and involved the transformation of an underutilized backyard to create an oasis for relaxing and entertaining. Our trained crew started with the dramatic topography of the site, which included a steep slope that presented adverse drainage issues. Once the drainage was in place, we added the conditions for effective site use that were also reasonably more aesthetically pleasing. We also introduced a few native plant species once again selected for their resilience and compatibility with the local biome. The chosen selections consisted of flowering perennials, ornamental grasses, and woody shrub material that were creatively incorporated together and a seasonal tapestry of color and texture. The centerpiece of the is a bespoke stone patio made from flagstone quarried from the area. It provides a durable and sophisticated space for outdoor activities. The patio flows into a winding path of decorative gravel that organically transports the guests through the garden towards the back. We also connected a dramatic water feature, a lovely pond that doubles as a habitat for wildlife and an element of sound. We finished with outdoor lighting to frame the beauty of the landscape while creating safety for guests during evening events. Through our planning and execution, we met our clients' initial needs while exceeding their expectations with the completed . While utilizing the surrounding ecology, the clients now have a functional extension of their outdoor space.
