info w2012 ALE: Almac North American Headquarters The w2012 ALE at the Almac North American Headquarters is an example of what can be accomplished through the work of the Pennsylvania Landscape & Nursery Association. This ambitious landscaping infused the headquarters with a stunning modern oasis motif that reflects the integration of modern aesthetics into nature, right in the heart of Pennsylvania. This design incorporates a variety of native plant species, carefully chosen for their ability to thrive in the local climate and encourage biodiversity. The constantly changing seasonal flower beds are interspersed with thick green lawns. From stylish stone paths to patios, bold hardscapes contribute to outdoor functionality for employees and guests alike. The other major challenge experienced there on site was the varying topography, requiring very precise grading, fill importing, and soil removal to maintain control over the proper drainage and stability of the topsoil. The team addressed these challenges with careful planning and sustainable practices like using permeable pavers toreduce runoff and increase groundwater infiltration. Locally sourced materials included natural stone and organic mulching options to 1) give it a unique look and feel that would foster the integration of the home into its natural surroundings and 2) help support the local economy). Water features, including a quiet pond and calming fountains, brought a peaceful setting, ideal for working or relaxing. The end result is a stunning view that has thrilled both the client and employees.
