About This Project

### Landscaping - Mannette Courtyard Brookside Landscape and Design has the pleasure to share the Mannette Courtyard, a that has reimagined outdoor living in the Port Orchard area. The final product was designed to be an inviting, tranquil, and functional courtyard for relaxing and entertaining in the beautiful communities from Bainbridge Island to Silverdale. The finished featured a wonderful collection of native plants, ornamental grasses, and a planned use of hardscaping for the property. The courtyard patio used beautiful, locally sourced stone, and a lovely pathway that meandered through the landscape, which had seasonal flowering plants and greenery. The design used permeable pavers, not only for aesthetics, but to show the importance we placed on sustainable drainage practice in our rainy Pacific Northwest. The site had sloped terrain that presented a challenge, which we minimized by adding terraced planting beds. The terraced beds not only provided another layer of visual interest, but also increased planting opportunities and plant diversity, as we could create microclimates for a variety of plants for varying light levels. The client worked directly with the team to choose plants that matched their style, which led to a space with vibrant colors and textures year-round. Additionally, we added a fire pit space for relaxation and entertaining, which also provided an intimate space for evening gatherings. With good seating and lighting, the space encouraged family and friends to occupy this area throughout the dry and wet months. The custom wooden planters added warmth and detail to the courtyard while showcasing seasonal flowers and herbs. The client was thrilled with the and communicated that it had become their new favorite place to enjoy. The Mannette Courtyard is a showcase of the dedication to good design and craftsmanship that encapsulates the team's work to recreate a landscape that fits the beautiful Kitsap Peninsula.
