Serving the neighborhoods of Crete, Denton, Lincoln, Pleasant Dale, and Yankee Hill, we transformed this backyard space into a private outdoor oasis in which Lorrie & Gary could unwind and entertain. We began the with a thorough introductory consultation to help us understand Lorrie & Gary’s vision. After that, we created an exact layout and drafted and re-drafted with the goal of incorporating the natural surroundings while making sure it was functional. A highlight of the included a custom multi-level deck that was constructed of sustainably sourced hardwood, providing a warm and welcoming space that would be great for entertaining. Adjacent to and connected to the deck is a large stone patio made of locally quarried flagstone that provided an engaging and durable surface for outdoor dining and lounging. The other landscaping elements in this were thoughtfully crafted to promote the beauty and health of the landscape and to protect the environment. A wide selection of native perennials and ornamental grasses were selected for their minimal landscape care and ability to thrive in the local climate, which would have the added benefit of helping to promote the local biodiversity. Aesthetics, Inc. also addressed the challenge of the underlying topography with an integrated grading solution that established height differences while providing proper drainage and grade changes through the area. In addition, we included a tranquil water feature with an integrated waterfall and pond. This watery element introduced a sonic environment that calms the yard and provides habitat for local wildlife. Further, we included strategically distributed LED lighting that highlighted important landscape elements and created an inviting warm glow long after the sun set. The overall outcome for the far surpassed our and Lorrie and Gary’s expectations for a blend of beauty, functionality, and sustainability. Lorrie and Gary were excited to share their outdoor oasis for family barbecues, the ritual of finishing a good book, or just enjoying the serenity in nature.
