Squeezed Patio to Expanded Everything Jacobs Grant Design Ltd is excited to introduce the transformational “Squeezed Patio to Expanded Everything", an incredible redesign of a proportionally small outdoor space to a robust extension of the home. Serving the community of Amlin, Bexley and beyond, our team was tasked with maximizing the potential of a nonfunctional patio area to connote an expansive, fun outdoor extension. The commenced with a careful evaluation of the pre-existing space and the clients’ goals of a more usable and welcoming area. After our talented designers presented a creative layout unifying form with function of a substantial paver patio, richly landscaped gardens and seating options for entertaining, the began to unfold. Premium materials including long-lasting and healthy Belgard pavers and natural stone were chosen, tastefully integrating well into the design. One of the major site challenges that was encountered during the deconstruction phase of the was that the original patio area had lots of uneven spots/uneven grading, and improper water drainage. Our experienced team mechanically regraded the site, allowing for proper drainage and again, creating a well-integrated design that became part of the landscape. Installing a thorough drainage system not only fixed the water runoff issues, but also amplified the overall landscape aesthetics and designsmart and tough work. The final product has a unified look and feel that responds directly to the clients' lifestyle and significantly increases curb appeal to their home. The newly expanded patio demonstrates a well-established fire pit integrated with custom benches, allowing family and friends to enjoy connection throughout the seasons. Colorful perennial gardens, with largely native species, further create a sense of vibrancy and welcome pollination, which helps promote biodiversity.
