Situated in the heart of Bexley, this was a total transformation of a residential landscape, requiring keen vision and seasoned skills. The begin with an extensive consultation process with our team and homeowners to understand their wants for the outdoor space; to both functionally and aesthetically enjoy. The presented several challenges including the sloped nature of the site and outdated hardscaping, which had no feeling of cohesiveness. We were able to work with their original site features through the talent of our landscape architects, who weaved together a plan addressing multiple issues while enhancing the aesthetically beautiful features of the property. We used a spectacular selection of constructions materials enabling a new outdoor patio to blend in with the existing architecture, functionally and aesthetically. The design included a patio area with a custom-designed fire pit and seating area which provides a comfortable gathering spot for a families and friends. To ensure the landscape would be both enjoyable throughout the seasons, we developed a diverse plant material palette displaying native, durable perennials and shrubs suitable for the climates, and inviting when in bloom, attractive to many species of wildlife. To address the drainage issues off the slopped areas of the yard, we engineered a rain garden to a level of excellence using permeable pavers and smart placement of plant material to help manage stormwater on site vegetatively. This presented another unique building element honoring the natural landscape while also addressing practicality. The end result is a beautiful cohesive outdoor space that embodies the homeowners’ personality and lifestyle.
