Overview of the Lake Washington Contemporary Garden by Cambium Inc. The Lake Washington Contemporary Garden is an impressive by Cambium Inc. that reflects the beauty of contemporary landscaping design along the beautiful shoreline of Lake Washington. The successfully transformed a sloped and underused backyard into a true outdoor living space that harmoniously integrates the site. The design incorporates contemporary hardscaping, native plants, and sustainable materials. A beautiful stone pathway, using local basalt, meanders through beds of vibrant perennials and ornamental grasses, providing movement and the sense of discovery. Eco-conscious permeable pavers were used in the patio area to be both beautiful and responsible to both the visitors and the local ecosystem. A significant challenge in the design was utilizing the slope while minimizing the potential for soil drainage and instability. Our team was able to integrate tiered planting beds using boulders and native rocks, which not only solved the slope challenges, but has also improved the aesthetic appeal and ecologically naturalistic quality of the landscape. Additionally, we designed a modern fire pit with custom used-seating to become a focal point for gatherings, and a place to enjoy the view to Lake Washington. The end result is a contemporary garden landscape that celebrates the spirit of its owners and enhances the surrounding Lake Washington community. As always, client-focused design and satisfaction informed the final touch points of the , and we enjoyed their enthusiasm for the outcome. This exhibits not only Cambium Inc.'s commitment to quality design and workmanship, but an inspirational representation of design possibility leading to personal outdoor relaxing spaces.
