Modern Courtyard by Cambium Inc. Cambium Inc. is excited to present 'Modern Courtyard,' a remarkable landscape that reimagined the outdoor experience for our client in the heart of Bellevue. Designed with quality and customer satisfaction, this achieved a peaceful place to unwind or host gatherings while incorporating the natural environment into a modern landscape. The modern courtyard has an impressive layout of geometric stone pavers that provide a pathway through a garden of varied greenery and colorful flower beds. For this outdoor space we selected excellent quality materials, including locally sourced basalt for the pathways and custom-cut bluestone for the seating area. These elements create a durable yet attractive outdoor experience. We also designed the courtyard with native plants that require low maintenance, which serves to beautify the space while creating a supportive habitat for biodiversity and wild pollinators. A challenge we faced with this included the sloped, undeveloped site. Implementing a tiered garden bed along the existing topography of the site and using a hidden, low retaining wall created a useful and level space while maintaining the existing nature of the landscape. The most enjoyable feature for the client is an updated fire pit that is surrounded by a custom-designed seating area, appropriate for gatherings with friends and family, where they can enjoy the outdoors and the night sky. We even integrated Specific low-profile lighting elements placed throughout the courtyard to highlight specific architectural features of the while also providing warmth and atmosphere to nighttime gatherings. The ended with a considerably lush courtyard garden that exceeded expectations, and it provided this client with an escape from their busy urban lifestyle.
