About This Project

Mirada Lot 30 by Hermann Design Group Located in the wonderful neighborhood of Mirada, Lot 30 is a beautiful example of Hermann Design Group's talent in creating low-maintenance, beautiful landscapes. Serving Bermuda Dunes, Cathedral City, Coachella and beyond, our team enjoyed the challenge of creating a beautifully enhanced lot, filled with scenery that boosts relaxation and seamlessly brings luxury into the landscape. We began the with a thorough site analysis to determine the unique topography and microclimates of the lot. Then, we began selecting a palette of drought tolerant plants that thrive under the arid climate of the Coachella Valley and provide great vibrant color and texture. Plants such as desert marigolds and agaves coalesce with elegant succulents and ornamental grasses to create a lush yet sustainable exotic garden. The primary challenge we faced during the design process was the slope of the lot, which brought unique challenges concerning water drainage and soil stabilization. Our talented team designed a series of terraced garden beds with natural stone retaining walls sourced from local rocks. The lightweight walls alleviated some of the drainage concerns while adding rustic appeal to the existing landscape. The hardscaped elements of the landscape included an oversized custom patio with a modern fire pit to entertain guests while sitting under the stars. The paver stones and their earthen colors added to the charm of the garden and roughly corresponded with the elements of the desert environment. Furthermore, we designed the pathway into the garden with fragrant herbs lining the way. The end result speaks for itself. The landscape is stunning and fulfilled the clients’ desires while conveying sustainability. The hardscape and softscape elements achieved the transformation of Lot 30 to a picturesque destination, providing the clients with the vacation they always wanted without leaving their home.
