Palos Park, Chicago Travertine Entryway & Custom Landscape by Smalls Landscaping Located in Palos Park, Chicago, this unique landscaping by Smalls Landscaping turned an average front yard into a beautiful entryway, combining elegance and nature. The accomplished outcome initially began with selecting the travertine paver pathway that would be used as the centerpiece. We chose this travertine because it is durable, timeless, and is easy to maintain. The warm beige, neutral tones of the travertine blended beautifully with the green surroundings to create a welcome feel. Once Smalls Landscaping's team got on-site, we discovered the topography was inconsistent and uneven. We corrected this before the installation and ensured the travertine pavers were laid correctly. The travertine was also laid in an intricate herringbone that created additional appeal and character. The plants laid near the path are all native plants including ornamental grasses and flowering perennials, which brought additional color and texture while enhancing the amount of biodiversity to their property. Finally, we installed custom landscape lighting to shine on the path and colorful vegetation when the sun went down, so the entryway would continue to be a focal point into the night. We also included decorative stone to frame the plants while also providing a great option for soil retention and reduced weed formation. In closing, this embodies the quality and satisfaction that Smalls Landscaping embodies. The final product was a combination of purpose and beauty that elevated the appeal of the house, kept our clients smiling, and gave a wonderful purpose to their outdoor space.
