Planting Beds Brought to Life!

Revitalizing Planting Beds! At Smalls Landscaping, we believe that any outdoor space can be rendered into a spectacular sanctuary. Our most recent "Revitalizing Planting Beds!" showcases our dedication to high craftsmanship and creativity in landscaping. Serving the beautiful towns and facilities of Aberdeen, Boone Grove, Hebron, Hobart, and much more, we were very excited to take on this challenge of bringing new life to the planting beds of a residential property in Valparaiso. To start off this , we began by surveying the existing landscape to identify how to improve the planting beds, while taking into account the erratic sun patterns and poor soil conditions. Our team selected a variety of native plants, with an emphasis on colorful perennial plants, sturdy shrubs, and ornamental grasses. We imagined a beautifully thriving landscape while limiting the maintenance requirements of the garden. The plants were well rooted in high quality organic soil amendments to hold nutrients and promote drainage in the soil. A highlight of this was the attractive hardscape elements. We placed decorative stone around each planting bed to give it a nice finished and crisp edging that complements the layout of the bed. We also created a drip irrigation system to conserve water and to make sure the plants are getting adequate moisturean important characteristic for sustainability and success of the landscape. While the progressed, we occasionally had problems with the current undulations of the planting area and large invasive roots growing from nearby trees. Our team worked diligently to regrade the area and thoughtfully plan where the plants were, to account for the sun patterns and availability of moisture. As a result, we created a natural flow of plants, which will not only beautify the property, but offer residential habitat for the critters in the area. The final reveal was very gratifying and met the client's expectation, by transforming the dull and lack-luster planting beds to a lush landscape of blooms, shapes, and colors. The clients can now expect a scenery that sways from seasonal blooms and greenery that serve the subtwlete or aesthetic level in inviting butterflies and hummingbirds into their backyard.
