Summary: Waterfeatures by Great Oaks Landscape Associates Inc. Great Oaks Landscape Associates Inc. successfully completed the 'Waterfeatures' , converting a standard backyard into a beautiful oasis in Michigan. Our client was located in Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, and beyond. All work was designed and installed to create a magnificent water garden that matched with the natural landscape. Among other features, the water garden included a beautiful koi pond with a cascading waterfall that added a soothing sound of water in the background. We built the sides of the pond out of high quality natural stone that is locally sourced. The water was captured and returned through energy efficient pumps and filtration decision, providing a great habitat for the koi and reducing maintenance for the homeowner. One of the major challenges we tackled was the slope of the yard, which required careful design to manage water flow and stability. Our professional crew built terraced landscaping with native plants growing that thrive in Michigan. These plants provided plant and soil stability and added great colors and textures throughout the seasons. The end result is a peaceful getaway for our client, who can sit by the pond in the evenings while surrounded by plants and moving water. Our efforts ensured the 'Waterfeatures' met the expectation of our client, and turned out beautifully, improving the neighborhood.
