Porticos and Front Entrances by Land Art Design, Inc. At Land Art Design, Inc., our mission is to beautify and create function in people’s outdoor spaces. The 'Porticos and Front Entrances' is a great example of our commitment to quality and creativity, plus our talent for transforming residential landscapes in the great communities of Alexandria, Arlington, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and beyond. This ambitious consisted of redesigning front entrances that incorporated elegant porticos to draw residents and guests inside. The design incorporated the highest quality materials...natural stone, cedar wood, and decorative pavers, to mention a few. The end results created not just visual impact, but also durability. We created archways with intricate detail that housed climbing vines. Light for ambience was integrated into the design to help ensure, day or night, a warm welcome. One of the exciting challenges was to develop a portico design that enhanced and complemented the architectural character of each home while adhering to local zoning regulations. At Land Art Design, we take a lot of pride in the client experience process. A part of that process included a series of site visits for every portico family at their residence. In each visit we collaborated with the homeowner to move through an iterative process governing personal taste, while still considering and adhering to zoning regulations and municipal development standards which governed each neighborhood or specific community. In the end… the results were nothing short of glorious. Each entrance evolved to provide a focal point for the property in many functional ways. Each new portico became a valued functional space for gathering and visiting with friends and family, which enhanced each home's curb side imagery. Each client loved the beauty and practicality of the designs and several raved how their home became a very inviting retreat.
