Profile: Moss Lane, Front Landscape by Crimson Landscape At Crimson Landscape, we take pleasure in creating beautiful outdoor areas, specifically, our most recent nicknamed 'Moss Lane, Front Landscape.' This encapsulates everything we believe in - quality, craftsmanship, and creativity. Located in the center of Plano, this presented an exciting challenge, a sloped front lawn that required aesthetic improvement, as well as function. We started off the design by simply including some native plants in the portion of the landscaping process that involved vegetation, along with much of the planting being dedicated to drought-resistant plants, contributing a green (and now some blooming) population to the front yard and help blend the landscape into the lot's geography. The landscape provides some height/seasonal variation with its ornamental grasses and is filled with some of the most popular flowering perennials and shrubs that are long-blooming and that provide year around color and texture. To compact the landscape and develop some visual interest, we introduced several natural stone retaining walls that were created from locally sourced stone, which helped not only to handle the slope but also added a very natural charm to the front yard. A unique component to the landscape is the custom pathway constructed from reclaimed pavers. The pathway creates an opportunity for visitors to experience the garden and explore along the path itself. We did experience some challenges with drainage and soil quality, but the irrigation specialists installing the drainage and developing and utilizing a rain garden to manage some runoff, while addressing the succeeding issue of bolstering our biodiversity in the overall landscape. All in all, a beautiful front landscape that is now aligned with the architecture of the home, improves the curb appeal to some nature-inspired visuals, and creates another welcoming space for the clients, who can now enjoy a private outdoor retreat within their lively palette of colors and textures on display seasonally. Besides representing our quality of work, it also reemphasizes that we are creating landscapes that will thrive in North Dallas under our unique craftsmanship.
