South Lake - A Transformational Landscape Reveal Crimson Landscape is proud to share the 'South Lake' - a transformative landscape in North Dallas, which showcased our commitment to quality of service and innovation in landscapes servicing the communities of Addison, Allen, Frisco, and beyond. This embarked with an extensive consultation with our client to gauge their expectations and overall vision around their outdoor space. Our team had a steep slope to work with and accomplish. We carefully considered tiered flowerbeds and a natural stone retaining wall. With an access to local limestone, we were able to create durable and aesthetically pleasing feature that would support the landscape and the natural environment around it. The jewel of the South Lake can be seen in the creation of a custom designed patio. The custom patio brought a high quality of design and paving materials together using slip resistant pavers that complemented the lush green landscape surrounding it. Each of the outdoor living spaces featured a built-in fire pit that enabled comfort and conversation around this space for guests to enjoy with family and friends. Lastly, with a consideration of the nuances of the space and other features of the landscape, we added more intimate landscape lighting to many of the beautiful ornamental plants and large, mature trees contributing to the home and outdoor space, in essence creating a magical experience at dusk. One of the more noticeable design elements of the South Lake was the selection of colorful native plantings. We prefer using established native planting areas that promote a sustainable landscape by selecting plants that will work best with the Texas climate for drought resistant criteria in mind. The permanent plant species that are incorporated into the plan will not only provide color throughout the seasons but will also give the landscape both intrigue and a level of texture that we were able to mix along with the other exhibits of color and texture, without being dull or complicated. The process of addressing the area that supports the sections of the landscape embodied a coherent dynamic rather than contrasting with one another that would appease the senses. Throughout the we prioritized eco-friendly materials and landscaping processes, such as permeable paving to best address stormwater runoff. Not only does this contribute to the ecological footprint of the overall property, but is an investment for the durability of the landscape in the future seasons and years too. In the end, the final was a beautiful landscape transformation while exceeding the client's expectations with all of the new features of the plan. After a long discussion reviewing the features, we were grateful to leave knowing we were able to complete the with thoughtful design and craftsmanship meeting the outdoor vision of a client to the highest of his standards with quality of craftsmanship and purpose.
