Summary: Colonial Gardens LandArt Associates, LLC. is excited to announce the Colonial Gardens a transformative landscape design in downtown Ellicott City. This large residential landscape was designed to fit well with the home's colonial architecture and tie into its natural surroundings. The design of the included a carefully thought-out plant arrangement to provide a palette of native plants for the busy residential family throughout the seasons. Stone paths were crafted using locally sourced bluestone to create a sophisticated appearance while allowing for durability and slip-resistance. The sloped site posed its own design challenges, but we addressed possible drainage and soil erosion by creating tiered flower bedswhich were ornamented with natural stone boulders. The garden's appeal was elevated through the design and installation of a custom-built wooden pergola that was draped in climbing vines. The pergola adds shaded seating and flexibility for a family gathering outside. Each section of the garden featured soft ambient lighting integrated into plantings and paths to ensure gentle and peaceful use of the garden in the evening. Quality workmanship became apparent in our choice of drought-resistant plantings that minimize maintenance and promote sustainable landscaping. We produced a stunning garden design with plantings that are lovely and functional for the client and support outdoor living use.
