Dallas Residence 2017 | E2 Illumination Designs The Dallas Residence 2017, created by Dallas-based E2 Illumination Designs, embodies the art of outdoor living in this urban oasis. The entire landscaping turned a typical suburban yard into an oasis that fit the vision of the customer seamlessly. We incorporated landscaping, hardscaping and unique lighting, but always made sure that the landscape complemented the architecture of the home and added to the curb appeal. This included a custom flag stone patio built with local stone and was setup for entertainment. We added native Texas plants like Bluebonnets and Lantanas around the patio, so they require very little water and upkeep. It also helps to sustain the local ecosystem but adds color during all of the seasons. As the yard also has a varied lot topography, another unique challenge was that for the water was to move and blunted, sitting in open air pockets down into the yard, so we needed to be careful the designs so the entire is sustainable. We expertly designed a complex sub-drain system with perforated pipe and gravel beds to capture excess water and move it out to basement-free zones so that our established plantings remain healthy and our infrastructure will outlast the elements. We also designed a complete outdoor lighting scheme to enhance the evenings spent in the outdoor spaces most notably offering architectural feature lighting of the home itself and lighting pathways for safety but also increased evening ambience. LED fixtures which give an ambient warm glow that illuminates the entire space to create a nice evening setting, ideal for entertaining guests over dinner or in solitude contemplating beneath the stars. The end product was a stunning landscape that exceeded the client’s vision. E2 Illumination Designs prides itself on delivering solid construction, inventive ideas, and happy clients, which is evidenced in the Dallas Residence 2017. The outdoor living space is now a favorite spot for the family and a real neighborhood showpiece.
