Park Ridge Residence 1 Tommy Pollina Landscape Company Inc. is pleased to introduce the Park Ridge Residence 1 , which beautifully demonstrates both quality and innovation while delivering an incredible landscape. This residence, located in the Heart of Park Ridge, is now a synergy of great design and outdoor space that serves either for aesthetics of function. The began with a consultation to discuss the client’s vision for an outdoor retreat for family gathering and relaxation. From there, we designed a multi-level garden with a wide selection of native plants suitable for the climate, providing a sustainable and low-maintenance landscape. Natural stone (both durable and beautiful) beds achieve a classic look for the patio and pathways that are not only aesthetic but will withstand the weather over time. The biggest challenge was the slope of the land. Therefore, we built a series of retaining walls in a native stone sourced near the property. The walls aided in the managing of water runoff and divided the garden into levels. Ultimately, this elevated the utility of the space by creating a design challenge while adding to the visual appeal with differing elevations. We added a fire pit with a cushioned surface around it, which allowed the family to enjoy the cooler evenings. The landscape lights also highlight the garden's aesthetic features and aid in the safety for enjoyment after dark. The result is a stunning landscape that is fully connected to the architecture of the home, the interior space, and the natural environment. The client was very happy, stating that what they envisioned was achieved and taken to the next level.
