Edmonds - Olander Garden Design Located in beautiful Edmonds, this wonderful garden , completed for Olander Garden Design, demonstrates our values of quality and creativity. Serving the communities of Bainbridge Island, Ballard, Beaux Arts Village, Bellevue, Clyde Hill, Hunts Point, Kirkland, Medina, North Beacon Hill, Seattle, Shoreline, Yarrow Point, and Bothell, we enjoy transforming outdoor spaces into picturesque outdoor extensions of your home that bring you outdoors to appreciate nature. As part of this , our team was challenged with a slope and the need to create a multi-functional garden space that blended into the surrounding gardens and trees. We began to address our challenge by using a sequence of natural stone retaining walls, made from local basalt. Not only did our walls provide functional benefits, they also provided beauty to the landscape with aesthetics that enhance the space. By utilizing these walls, we could create tiers in the planting areas of the garden that are perfect for flower beds and lush greenery. Next, upon the grade of the slope and the design of the garden, we created a custom patio space constructed from reclaimed pavers that provided a place for the guest to entertain outdoors. The patio area provided space for the planting beds to include native to the area plant landscaping that incorporated sustainable drought-resistant perennials and ornamental grasses; these plants also provide sustainability and reduced water use, and support local pollinators. Also one of the favorite features of the Edmonds is the water feature we created, it provided a focal point and peaceful element to the garden. The patio area and water feature provided relaxing sounds of water running gently nearby, by the new garden is an ideal escape from daily activities. Throughout this , when possible, we invested in durable quality and environmentally conscious materials when designing the . Despite challenges from the slope and drainage issues, implementation included a robust drainage system that ensures the luscious greenery will thrive with heavy rain. The end result makes this garden a stunning outdoor retreat that successfully renovated the clients wish list requests into reality beyond original expectations. The peacefulness and ability to entertain in the space, with stunning gardens, now brings relaxation to the homeowners' doorsteps.
