Fowler Residence by Outerior Design The Fowler Residence, located in Five Forks, is a prime example of the transformational power of professional landscaping, beautifully executed by Outerior Design. The married function and beauty by enhancing the natural areas around the house with a welcoming space for family gatherings. The scope of the began with a site visit that paid particular attention to the topography of the yard and the sun exposure. The main stumbling block to creating a cohesive design was working with fluctuating elevations and ensuring proper drainage. We successfully addressed both issues with a tiered garden plan using stone sourced locally for retaining walls. The stone allowed us to retain the earth and looked rustic and natural. The design featured a colorful palette of seasonal blooms selected for their aesthetics and low maintenance. We also incorporated native plants such as azaleas and day lilies to help the yard be sustainable by attracting native pollinators. Paved paths of permeable pavers were installed to help with accessibility while allowing the rainwater to filter back into the earth rather than running off. As a centerpiece of the , we built a fire pit out of beautiful natural boulders. The firepit offers a central gathering space for chilly evening gatherings. Additionally, we added outdoor lighting that enhances the beauty of the landscaped yard at night, providing a homey feel. The end result thrilled the Fowler Family, who now enjoy their beautifully landscaped yard as a retreat that represents their lifestyle while increasing curb appeal.
