LANDSCAPE AND HARDSCAPE by Roy Altaras Landscape Design and Build Located in central Los Angeles, the ‘Landscape and Hardscape’ was a fantastic example of the design-build capabilities of Roy Altaras Landscape Design and Build. With clients in all neighborhoods from Bel Air to West Hollywood, this had characteristics that defined our commitment to improving outdoor spaces. We began with a site analysis, which reviewed the distinctive attributes and problem areas of the site. At the completion of this analysis, we had key information regarding soil types and existing structures. Almost immediately we began designing a landscape and hardscape that fit into the context but exceeded expectations at the same time: the landscape looked fantastic, but also met practical needs related to drainage and functional access. The centerpiece of the was a wide and diverse selection of sustainable/drought tolerant plants. Careful thought was provided to arrange the plantings to create a lush and dynamic green setting. We utilized a native California palate, including colorful succulents and ornamental grasses. The plants not only looked extraordinary, but maintained lower maintenance and promoted local habitats. The hardscape component featured natural stone pathways, customized-cut, that meandered through the garden space to unique outdoor living landscapes. To increase the appeal, we designed an incredible outdoor space that had a fire pit built of reclaimed bricks, and custom sitting arrangements made of sustainably sourced hardwood. It was both functional and chic, providing a focal point and inviting appearance for family and friends to gather. Despite some challenges presented by limited space, and steep terrain, we worked creatively with building tiered retaining walls and steps throughout the garden space. The result provided an inviting, multi-directed exploration and experience. At the completion of the , the satisfaction from the client was overwhelming. Upon completion of the , the client noted not only the increase in value of their home, but that the landscape allowed them a space to escape the city. I can assure you the idea and suggestion is valid, and based upon our quality of work, creativity, and commitment to satisfy the client, this is simply another representation of Roy Altaras Landscape Design and Build at work in the Los Angeles area.
