Rustic Design At Roy Altaras Landscape Design and Build, we strive to transform outdoor spaces into peaceful retreats that express our clients' aspirations and visions of their properties. Our most recent , 'Rustic Design,' located in the heart of the very vibrant Los Angeles area, exemplifies the efforts of a dedicated team at a commitment to landscape excellence. The playful itself consists of a balanced approach of natural stone walks with weathered wood decking and indigenous plantings that convey a sense of rustic warm charm. We also embraced the concept of using locally sourced materials that were either reclaimed or drawn from local producers to ensure sustainability and authenticity of the materials and thus the landscape; immersed in the existing beauty of the site and area while minimizing environmental impact. One of the tasks was managing to take advantage of the already existing topography of the property and weaving it throughout the design of the landscape. Through grading techniques and arrangement of the space, we were able to tactically work with the challenge of uneven ground to create tiers of gardens beds to add visual interest and usable outdoor living space. The team successfully implemented a delightful mix of drought-resistant plants so that the site was full of color, flowering at different times of the year, with very little water usage. The end result was a dream landscape that gracefully connected with its existing neighboring properties; including a warm gathering area around a fire circle, surrounded by new native plantings: great for hosting family and friends, or just hanging out on a quiet evening under the stars. The clients' vision became reality through good design, quality workmanship, and attention to detail: leaving the client with a very happy family to enjoy their new outdoor living avenue.
