The project involved relocating the bathroom to the back of the home, capitalizing on a newly raised ceiling to incorporate an expansive shower area and a skylight positioned above the luxurious soaking tub. This strategic relocation not only enhances the natural light but also creates a serene atmosphere, making the space feel more open and inviting. One of the most significant changes was the elimination of a staircase, which allowed for a more efficient layout. This newfound space was expertly utilized to incorporate a generously sized walk-in closet, offering ample storage without compromising on style. Additionally, the laundry facilities were integrated into the bathroom, skillfully concealed within custom cabinetry that includes a drying rack, ensuring that practicality harmonizes with elegance. The design theme revolves around the convergence of elements, creating a balanced relationship of space and materials that resonate with both comfort and sophistication. The soaking tub, nestled into a landscape of blond bamboo and green tile, invites relaxation. A gentle slope of carved green tile leads the eye seamlessly towards the shower, which is adorned with rich iron ore red porcelain tiles. This bold choice contrasts beautifully with the soft cream porcelain that frames the shower area, enhancing the overall visual appeal. The flooring, crafted from sleek slate and framed with smooth river rocks, adds texture and warmth to the space, inviting a natural element into the contemporary design. A distinctive vein of copper runs through both the tub and shower areas, further unifying the elements and adding a touch of luxury. The custom hickory vanity, featuring two copper sinks, is complemented by faucets designed to evoke the feeling of water flowing from a pitcher, enhancing the bathroom’s organic feel.
