Del Mar Outdoor Living and Pool Design Nick Martin Landscape Architect Inc. is excited to share the Del Mar Outdoor Living and Pool Design, a breathtaking example of luxury meeting function in an outdoor space. Located in the coastal community of Del Mar, this design was created to blend with the beauty of the natural environment and to provide a soothing escape for the owners, family and friends. The design features a stunning custom pool with a waterfall and spa integrated into the pool, set in a pristine and neatly laid travertine paver patio that extends into the outdoor living space. A beautifully designed pergola provides a shaded seating area with climbing vines creating a relaxing feel. The landscape design utilizes a range of native plants, including succulents with various colors and flowering shrubs. All of the plants are sustainably used, as they use a limited amount of water. One of the challenges of this was the slope of the property, which required grading strategies to allow the entire to drain correctly and remain stable. We were able to solve a few challenges of the space with high-quality natural stone retaining walls to create tiered gardens that add texture and dimension to the property. In the end, the finished outdoor space creates a beautiful oasis, marrying luxury to nature. The clients were particularly impressed with the way we blended the pool, landscaping and outdoor living spaces into an extension of the home into their private escape.
