BIBLE STORIES by Matthew Beehler | CBLD BIBLE STORIES is an inspiring landscaping that connects nature, space, and storytelling in the heart of Southern California. CBLD's vision was to design a completely immersive outdoor experience within the lovely coastal communities of Corona Del Mar, Costa Mesa, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Newport Coast, Santa Ana, and Seal Beach, that would reflect the depths of meaning and beauty found in biblical stories. The incorporates different hardscaping elements including a beautiful stone path that twists like the old world narrow roads. These paths are made from regionally sourced flagstone that adds durability while connecting different zones throughout the landscape. The stone path supports a journey of contemplation and tranquility for all visitors. The raised garden beds created with reclaimed wood are environmentally friendly option for the lower elevation and brought texture and warmth to the outdoor space. Another feature of the is the beautiful water feature, which was inspired by imagery of the River Jordan. The water features as a natural stone fountain to create a calming experience for guest that invites relaxation and reflection. Surrounding the water feature, native plants and drought-resistant species will contribute to sustainability while enhancing aesthetics of the . Although there were challenges with uneven grades and soil quality, our team implemented soil amendments as needed and made the grading considerations to support a stable space for our designs. Similarly, we were careful to use plants that thrive in local conditions allowing for a true seasonal performance while minimizing water consumption. This , creating a beautiful balance of art and nature, was most rewarding for our clients, as they were returned with a landscape that tells stories with its designs and elements. Walking through the garden, each angle brings intrigue and reflection for the viewer, filling CBLD's intention of creating experiences for people who interact with them.
