The Barnes Residence by Leifeste Landscape Design The Barnes Residence , located in the heart of Alamo Heights, demonstrates the talent and quality that Leifeste Landscape Design brings to the San Antonio area. This landscaping harmonizes with the natural wonders that surround the residence with the beauty of the residence to provide a remarkable outdoor retreat. The design utilizes a mixture of native plant material selected for its hardiness and low maintenance to showcase color year-round. The highlight of the landscape design is the custom stone patio made out of locally quarried flagstone, which serves as a lovely space for the clients to entertain outdoors. Beside the patio is a hand-built fire pit that will get its fair share of use on those chilly Texas nights. Lush greenery surrounds both finishes, with well-placed accent lighting to complete the space. A main consideration of the was the slope of the grade on the property. We installed tiered garden beds to address elevation while keeping the aesthetic elements of the landscape in mind. The cool driveway is paved with permeable pavers to maintain all the aesthetic values of a driveway while allowing water drainage, aligning will sustainable landscaping. As a result, we felt we were able to produce a phenomenal outdoor space with respects to the owners style while improving their lifestyles. The entrance to the home showcases a water feature to attract wildlife, and the plantings provide color and a range of blooming dates in the flower beds during the spring, summer, and late-fall.
