The Landscape embraces a beautiful contrast of native and drought tolerant plants specifically curated to thrive in Arizona. From inviting, rich textured plant beds that include beautiful desert wildflowers, to a striking agave and succulent composition, the highlights the colorful and textural plants that create a vibrant, low maintenance outdoor retreat. The use of natural stone pathways, corten steel raised beds, and other durable materials not only enhance the aesthetics of the landscaping, they are suitable against the wild weather of the area. An unexpected challenge to the was to aid with, the slight grade in the Landscape for drainage and achieve proper visual flow of the landscaping. This challenge was effectively countered with the team's use of tiered planting areas to encourage runoff to glide into the plant beds while providing visual layering in the yard. Finally, a modern irrigation system was added to sustain the Landscape and allow the client to enjoy their outdoor space, with little water waste. The end result is a breathtaking outdoor space that entices its user to relax and entertain with guests, with a contemporary fire pit and surrounding seating for friends and family. The client is thoroughly pleased with the work and is happy with both the landscaping and its subtle juxtaposition to the home, enhancing their living environment.
