A prominent challenge was the steep slope of the site, so we compensated by creating a series of tiered retaining walls from locally sourced granite. The retaining walls not only stabilize the gentle slope, but are a stunning and effective aspect of the landscape. A generously sized flagstone path meanders through the , with the bonus of low-growing groundcovers inviting curiosity and interaction between the spaces. The path leads the client to a quiet seating area, inviting suspending time by gazing over the surrounding open hills separated in the distance.
