Story: Ashville Park, Virginia Beach Client: Wild Works of Whimsy, LLC Located in the beautiful Ashville Park community in Virginia Beach, this amazing landscaping by Wild Works of Whimsy LLC exemplifies our dedication to quality, creativity, and environmental responsibility. We were given the opportunity to make over a residential backyard that had been underused for many years. This landscaping design provided a bold outdoor environment that was harmonious with the natural setting. This landscaping featured an extraordinary multi-level patio constructed of local natural stone, providing a beautiful entertainment area and leisure space. A creative fire pit, with comfortable seats surrounding it, created a welcoming atmosphere for evening entertainment. The landscape presentation featured a wide variety of native Virginia plants, resilient plants that do not require excessive maintenance. The design provided shrub and perennial beds that provide flowers and colors throughout the seasons, with ornamental grass colors, shapes, and textures adding dimension and beauty for the local environment. The completion of the included an efficient irrigation system that sustainably utilized water while addressing the environmental concerns of maintaining a lush landscape in a coastal environment. Throughout the construction process, the team manifested on certain challenges relating to the unstable grade of the slope and drainage solutions. The expertise and innovative design solutions allowed for grading of the landscape, along with a French drain system, to protect the property from overflow flooding and improve the soil health of the landscape area. The imagining of the resulted in a quality landscape that harmoniously presented aesthetics and opportunity. The property owners now had a personal outdoor oasis, increasing their property value and outdoor living experience.
