About This Project

Backyard Entertaining by KAPPLE Landscape Design KAPPLE Landscape Design was recently commissioned to regenerate a modest backyard in Jacksonville called 'Backyard Entertaining.' This incorporated function and beauty to accommodate the client’s vision for a lively “town square.” This included a large multi-level deck, built of durable composite materials that resist wear. Oh, and we included custom seating with cushions constructed from colourful outdoor fabric to invite guests to sit and relax. We provided outdoor lighting with both soft glare-string lights and multi-function post non-glare lights for evening gatherings. Another important element of the was the outdoor kitchen with grill, granite counter tops, and a bar. The outdoor kitchen increased the function of the space, but just as importantly served as a pivotal point for socializing. We exclusively used materials that can withstand the Northeast Florida climate, while preserving the aesthetics of the ! As with any outdoor , there are challenges, even on simple residential site work. In this case, we faced uneven terrain and limited site access. However, our trained team proved to overcome these challenges with leveling techniques and efficient equipment handling to guarantee a sound installation, without sacrificing quality. Lastly, we were pleased with the final result, as our clients had an amazing outdoor oasis. The was framed with lush native landscaping and colourful flowering plants, which also contributed beautiful privacy! We feel that the result of blend of thoughtful design, durable materials, and craftsmanship gives the family not only a perfect entertaining back yard, but a family retreat.
