Modern Backyard Renovation by Best of Texas Landscapes At Best of Texas Landscapes, we pride ourselves on transforming outdoor spaces, and our most recent , the 'Modern Backyard Renovation,' illustrates our commitment to high-quality and creative designs. Located in the heart of Cedar Park, we intended to change the homeowner's outdoor experience as well as the overall curb appeal of the property. The began with a round of consultations where we wanted to understand the client's ideas and vision. We were able to uncover key items that could be included that would take their backyard to a modern oasis. After planning the layout of the space, we designed a multi-level patio made from sustainable, high-quality composite decking. The composite decking was a clean material that would work well with the modern architecture and would hold up against the Texas weather. To tie in the indoor space with the outdoor living space, we chose to lay large-format porcelain tile from the kitchen to the patio. This would connect the spaces and allow free flow from one space to the other. The rustic and custom fire pit adds creativity and design to the space, while also giving the homeowner a cozy place to gather with friends and family. Planning the landscape for nighttime use was important with the strategic locations of landscape lighting and overhead pendant lights so that it could be appreciated at all hours. One of the challenges we faced was leveling the uneven grade and creating a retaining wall with natural stone to hold it all in. Not only did that hold the grade, but it add rustic character to contrast the modern design. We were also able to find and select a native plant palette, such as lavender and Texas sage, that supports sustainability, low maintenance, and color. The culminated in stunning success. The homeowners now can enjoy such a functional and welcoming space that fits their lifestyle, while also supporting the value of their property. The modern design, quality materials, and creative landscaping create a vibrant retreat right in their backyard.
