Backyard Retreat by Hawkins Landscape Architecture/TriadGarden The 'Backyard Retreat' , situated in a tranquil corner of Greensboro, showcases the craftsmanship and talent of Hawkins Landscape Architecture/TriadGarden. The purpose of this landscaping was to create a welcoming space outdoors that features nature with a modern touch for the client's enjoyment for relaxation and entertaining. The unique design incorporates various features, including a stone patio custom made from locally sourced flagstone that serves as a stable and visually pleasing surface for gatherings outdoors. Directly surrounding the patio, richly planted perennial gardens add seasonal color to the space and serve as insects and birds pollinator gardens. The addition of a beautiful water feature, which is a gentle cascade fountain that drips, allows for the reflection of light while making soothing sounds to create an inviting space to relax. One of the obstacles encountered while completing the was the sloping landscape. Our team leveled the slope while maintaining the beautiful mountainside contours for functionality, while also keeping the site on-grade naturally. Carefully placed native shrubs and trees adorned the environment, adding visual characteristics, shade, and privacy creating a secluded neighborhood escape. The finished product is a backyard retreat that the client highly appreciates as a beautiful and functional space for outdoor living. Entertaining the family in summer barbecues or simply relaxing at night under the stars was the intended use for the space. Hawkins Landscape Architecture/TriadGarden provided the quality and craftsmanship that reflects the ultimate outdoor success in the backyard retreat by continuing to offer an interior living space transitioning further into the outdoors.
