About This Project

### Lake Van Ness by Logoluso Design Studio Located in central Los Angeles, Logoluso Design Studio's Lake Van Ness blends nature and modern design, serving high-end communities like Bel Air, Beverly Hills, and Santa Monica. Our challenge was to take a neglected outdoor space and create an oasis for the clients’ way of life. This extensive landscape showcased a stunning palette of native plants, including drought-adapted succulents and flowering shrubs for year-round beauty and sustainability. We chose quality materials, such as locally-sourced stone for the patio and pathways, to maintain durability and complement the surrounding setting beautifully. To provide a shaded spot to relax, we added a custom-built pergola with climbing vines for an interesting textural element. One major challenge we faced was sloping terrain, so we graded and developed drainage solutions to prevent puddles during the rainy season. We designed a sloping terrain that directs rainwater to a decorative basin, which works both aesthetically and functionally. The result of our efforts is an elegant landscape with a calming koi pond, surrounded by native plantings, with soft lighting that creates a magical feeling for evening gatherings. Dazzling plants and good design combining with the owner’s touches have exceeded all of the clients’ expectations and provided a restful environment that extends the interior space into the landscape seamlessly.
