The renovation included a comprehensive landscaping converting an average backyard into a garden with rustic charm and lush greenery, a truly tranquil oasis. Crisp terracotta tiles, hand-laid stone pathways, and an abundance of drought-resistant vegetation (she planted lavender, rosemary, and olive trees, all chosen for their hardiness in Valencia) make for an outdoor chef's paradise. They have added custom-built pergolas with climbing vines as well as soft outdoor lighting to create an inviting space for relaxing and entertaining. This property has a couple different challenges that we were up against: the first is the slope of the property. BSH tackled this challenge by designing a multi-level garden creating interest, better drainage and soil retention. Different natural boulders as retaining walls go with the flow of the design and provide viability. This compliance results in a pleasing balance between design and functionality, which this spectacular water feature that anchors the garden, filling the space with delightful sounds and attractiveness.
