Summary: California Winery Benessere Vineyards by Smalls Landscaping The California Winery Benessere Vineyards highlights the creativity and skill of Smalls Landscaping, located in the beautiful rolling hills of wine country, where we helped transform a large-scale vineyard into a stunning landscape of beauty and function, while respecting the natural environment. Using a large quantity of local stone, we built attractive dry-stacked stone walls to establish areas of the property and to provide character and integrity. We built rustic wood trellises to support the growing grapevines, while providing continuity between the site and function as a vineyard. Significant challenges were posed managing the natural slope of the property. Our talented team of designers created terraced gardens to not only create beauty, but improve drainage of water and retain soil in preparation and care of the vines. Drought resistant plants were suitable to help fill the gardens and we established beautiful lavender and ornamental grasses to maintain a rustic look and to integrate sustainability to the , while still representing the winery’s mission and sustainability initiatives. Many of the features highlight the unique Tasting Area, which embodies the experience for guests. A handsome pergola, draped with wisteria frames the space along with a stone hearth that creates a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy the wine. The seating has been carefully arranged and hand picked stones arranged with native planting, provides comfort, harmony, and combination with the surrounding landscape. At the conclusion of the , the client was ecstatic the outcome, the made the property inviting, cohesive, and beautiful while offering a functional space for guests to enjoy the complete vineyard experience.
