This was made possible through careful planning, and the client's desire to create beautiful outdoor spaces to complement the natural beauty of the site. The is centered around gardens, carefully planned with California native plants, and sustainability in mind. The use of hardscape features, like custom stone paths and an outdoor kitchen, adds beauty and function to the space. Locally-sourced flagstone and weather-resistant finishes were selected to sustain the diverse climate of the region. Another major consideration during this was the site's slope, which dictated creative solutions to design a terraced garden with visual interest and accessibility. Retaining walls and terraces helped define the verticality in order to connect the landscape seamlessly to the existing topography. The terraces improved the functionality of the property as well as provided exquisite vantage points from which to appreciate the views. The result is a striking outdoor oasis with the balance of lush greenery, inviting place to socialize, and beautiful hardscape that satisfies the client's desire for a peaceful retreat. This has been transformed into an extraordinary home away from home for the homeowner and their guests.
