About This Project

Inviting Pool in Foothill Big Rock Landscaping is excited to present the ‘Inviting Pool in Foothill,’ which is located in the foothills close to Provo and serves clients in the surrounding areas such as Lake Shore, Lindon, Mapleton, Orem, Pleasant Grove, Spanish Fork, Springville and Vineyard. Our job was to create a relaxed outdoor space that fits with the existing landscape. After a thorough site analysis, we were able to look at areas of the property that could pose challengeslike the varied topography and existing vegetationand our designers created a plan that included a beautifully designed in-ground swimming pool surrounded by a locally-sourced limestone terrace, which provides both a warm design aesthetic and durable surface for all weather. In an effort to create a cohesive habitat, we incorporated landscaping that featured native shrubs and perennials that continue to bloom throughout the season. Ornamental grasses add movement and texture, and lights in the planting and pool area provide a nicely illuminated setting to enjoy the outdoor space at night. To integrate the pool into the site, a challenging design consideration, we utilized grade to accommodate the slope of the property, while maintaining a gradual shift in elevation from the higher ground to the pool entry. A natural stone wall also provides a beautiful element while addressing potential erosion issues, and it serves as a significant backdrop to display the efflorescence of the native vegetation. The end result is a peaceful retreat that promotes relaxation and family gathering. Our clients expressed their overwhelming delight in their pool and in the way it was going to elevate their outdoor living experience.
