Carlsbad Overhead Structure Developed under the vision of Nick Martin Landscape Architect Inc., the 'Carlsbad Overhead Structure' showcases a seamless blend of functional landscaping with the natural beauty of this landscape. Serving a widespread clientele in places like Escondido, Rancho Santa Fe, and Encinitas, we took on the task of building a stunning overhead structure to entertain the client's outdoor space and integrate it with the existing landscape. This included a custom-built pergola constructed from weather-resistant, durable materials, including salvaged cedar with premium steel accents. The pergola provides shade and protection but also acts as a sculptural centerpiece of the garden. The carefully selected climbers and flowering plants accentuate the pergola's aesthetic, adding a palette of colors and textures throughout the seasons. One design feature we faced was the site's sloping terrain, which required us to think grading strategies to make sure it was functional and beautiful. Our team of professionals carefully selected retaining walls, constructed from local natural stone, to support the plantings while providing a seamless transition into the environment. This redirection of topography allowed us to create a tiered garden experience that encourages exploration and interaction. The end results is truly remarkable and surprised our client. The structure, along with the landscaping, added functionality and also elevated the whole feel of the property. The Carlsbad Overhead Structure summarized our commitment to great design, craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of the client's perceptive point of view.
