This was so much more than curb appeal, this was a labor of love to create an inviting space for the homeowners and their visitors. Taking Initial Stock of the Existing Landscape Our team started by taking a good hard look at the existing landscape, which had largely become disjointed and in need of upgrades to its various features. The biggest issue was maintaining usable outdoor space but making sure the design fit both the architecture of the home as well as the overall feel of the neighborhood. This involved creating a full master plan consisting of a balance of native landscapes, hardscaping, and seating areas, which was built based on lots of discussions with the clients. High quality materials were used including local stones for the beautiful dry creek bed that manages rainwater runoff and premium pavers for the new long wide pathway that guides visitors through the front yard. Flanking the path are diverse, evergreen, perennial, and ornamental grass beds that flower at different times of year to bring constant interest and color. A simple, but lovely custom built cedar wood trellis, covered in climbing vines, adds an eye-catching focal point and welcomes visitors to the entrance. Well-placed landscape lights highlight these aspects and also keep the front yard beautiful at night. Our talented team experienced plenty of challenges along the way, such as tree roots that complicated excavation and drainage solutions. Despite these challenges we remained meticulous in maintaining our high standards of quality and innovation where we were able to provide a robust and successful landscape suitable for the Pacific Northwest climate.
