Kathwood Landscaping by Hay Hill Services Located within the greater South Carolina area, 'Kathwood' is a by Hay Hill Services that perfectly balances nature and design and turns a normal yard into a beautiful retreat. We serve the communities of Arcadia Lakes, Cayce, Columbia, Forest Acres, Hopkins, Irmo, Springdale, West Columbia, Cameron, Orangeburg, Saint Matthews, Lexington, Wildewood, Gaston, Fort Jackson, and Lake Murray, revitalizing this residential landscape with skill and artistry. This process began with an in-person meeting with the clients to hear their ideas and articulate needs. We crafted an intricate plan promoting a combination of function and aesthetics while paying special attention to detail. The results included a lovely patio, made from a locally-sourced flagstone, which is beautiful and rustic, and a variety of native plants to create a sustainable landscape with low maintenance requirements. At the core of the 'Kathwood' is the stunning water feature. We designed and constructed a bubbling pond. This feature is both zen and beautiful. The natural boulders lining the perimeter create warmth and invitation. The water feature welcomed wildlife to the space and added another level of ecology. Along the way, we faced hurdles clay-like soils with inadequate drainage that we reconstructed crate soil and a grading plan to stabilize the new landscape and bridge it to an old problem, responsibly. The end-staging was a beautiful landscape with utilitarian and aesthetic touches providing the clients with an inviting atmosphere capable of hosting gatherings or simply relaxing alone. The combination of lush plants, flowing flowers, and complementing hardscape created a landscape beyond the original dreams of our clients. The 'Kathwood' exemplified those ideas and created longevity through its durability, beauty, and new community engagement. At the end of the day, whether we were hosting family or simply unwind next to the pond was all welcome in the beautifully landscaped environment we could all enjoy for many memories to come.
