Lakeshore Living by Hay Hill Services Situated on the peaceful banks of Lake Murray, 'Lakeshore Living' showcases the creative and technical skills of Hay Hill Services for the active communities located in Arcadia Lakes, Cayce, Columbia and the surrounding areas. This involved an expansive landscape redesign, marrying design element to the natural beauty along the lake while offering functional outdoor spaces specific to the client's vision. The began with a site analysis to allow for the thoughtful design of a landscape that connected seamlessly to the surrounding area. Native species were incorporated into the design to establish biodiversity and achieve a lush landscape throughout the seasons. Hardy perennials, ornamental grasses and flowering shrubs provided color and encouraged low-water use - enhancing our commitment to sustainability. The included a custom stone pathway, made from locally sourced granite, that meandered through the garden. The path served to guide users through the landscape while its finish afforded strength against nature. The also included an exquisite water feature, that established serenity among the local wildlife all while providing a complement to the lakeside space. Two challenges were presented by the site: a slope and rocky soil. Both were overcome by a little creative grading and proper drainage, while ensuring the longevity and stability of the landscape. Our crew worked hard and turned challenges to opportunities for creativity. The final product was a stunning and functional area for our clients to enjoy, which became the spot for family gatherings and outdoor entertaining. The combination of intimate seating, a 'fire pit' surrounded by hearty vegetation, and a scenic view of Lake Murray, produced a balance of elegance and comfort - as 'Lakeshore Living' readies itself for years of enjoyment and relaxation.
