Highland Park, TX - Craftsman Landscape by Star of Texas Landscape Located in the central area of Highland Park, TX, the 'Craftsman Landscape' was another example of our dedication to quality and creativity in the field of landscape design. The goal of this was to take the client's dream of a beautiful blend of an outdoor living space and nature and transform it into the layout that made sense. We began the by conquering the challenges we faced with the slope of the yard, which required grading and drainage. Our team used only the best materials; we created beautiful native stone walls of locally sourced material and rustic yet modern flagstone pathways. Not only were we looking for durable and attractive materials, but we also focused on drought-resistant plant selection and using a variety of native vegetation and flowers to make the overall garden design unique and sustainable. The main ideas of the Craftsman included a beautiful patio space with handcrafted wooden pergolas to provide shade that keep the areas inviting. Realizing that plant selection and boulders both provided vibrant color and wonderful contrast to the plant selection and green backdrop of the yard, we strategically located flower beds in between the patio and house as well as boulders clustered at fun visual angles. To complete our garden design and as the focal point, we designed a water feature (which mimicked the soothing sounds of nature) to draw guests eyes down toward the area giving them an experience to remember. In the final analysis, we centered our entire design thinking the experience that would not only meet but exceed our clients' expectations. We wanted our clients to feel our attention to detail and craftsmanship, contributing to not just a functional yard but even more an unbelievable space in which they can unwind.
